Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, we’ve followed the best advice from experts and the Department of Health regarding the taxi industry. That means you can continue to book your 13cabs rides with confidence.
In March, for the well-being of Driver Partners and Passengers, we launched a nationwide, industry leading sanitisation program. We’re also a proud partner of the NSW Government offering professional Vehicle Sanitisation Services to all taxis, hire cars, rideshare and government vehicles.
The program covers both internal and external points of the vehicle and thorough detailing inside the cabin, including seats, door handles, seat belts, window controls and payment equipment.
Ride with care
The Australian Government’s Department of Health provides detailed and regularly updated information on coronavirus for public transport drivers, including taxis. We encourage you to protect yourself and others by cabbing with care. Here are a few ways you can help:
- If you have any coronavirus symptoms such as a cough, fever or loss of taste or smell, stay home
- Wash your hands or use hand sanitiser before and after every trip, and please don’t leave any rubbish behind in your cab
- In places where the rules are in place, our Driver Partners wear masks. We respectfully ask our passengers to do the same
- Please sit in the back seat and keep the windows down when possible, to increase the air circulation in the car
How we're helping Driver Partners
- Vehicle Sanitisation
Free and regular vehicle sanitisation is available to all our Driver Partners, via our national TAXITECH workshops. They don’t even need to book! This provides a level of confidence and safety for our Driver Partners and their Passengers.
- Sanitisation Products
At all our sites we have a variety of hand sanitising products and face masks available for Driver Partners to purchase.
- Keeping our Driver Partners Informed
We provide regular communications to all our Driver Partners regarding best practice around the coronavirus, in line with Government advice and processes. They also have access to support for their physical and mental well-being.
- MyDriver
The 13cabs app’s exclusive MyDriver feature provides our Passengers and Driver Partners with certainty around bookings and who they ride with.
- Ride in the back seat
We’re helping our Driver Partners maintain safe distancing whilst performing their important role, with car stickers that encourage Passengers to ride in the back seat.
- 13cabs deliveries
By pivoting to make parcel deliveries during Covid-19 restrictions, we’ve been able to keep more of our Driver Partners on the road. Our delivery service includes comprehensive proof of delivery processes to ensure Driver Partner and customer peace of mind.
As always, safety is our top priority. We aim to ensure that every trip with 13cabs is safe and comfortable for everyone. That’s why Driver Partners and passengers can decline or cancel rides for safety reasons, including significant risk to their health or safety.
