Meals with Impact is a Melbourne based social enterprise program dedicated to enriching the lives of refugee women and communities.
This week on Taxi Radio episode four we interview Haris Ryan, who cofounded Meals with Impact with Community Development Specialist, Nikki Blanch. Together, they witnessed first-hand the limitations of Victoria’s food relief system in providing culturally appropriate food during the pandemic.
They’ve now created a work-integrated social enterprise (WISE) that employs women from migrant and refugee backgrounds to co-design and produce culturally appropriate meals tailored for food relief and the wider community.
This week, we have a look at what’s on in the regions, plus we have some tips from drive.com.au on how you can care for your car.
In previous editions of Taxi Radio, we have discussed various topics that directly impact 13cabs and Silver Service Drivers.
Here is a summary of what we have covered so far:
In episode three, Gary Becus discusses all things IVT (In Vehicle Technology) and what the new technology means for Drivers. IVT is one of the biggest technology projects deployed in the taxi industry in response to Telstra decommissioning 3G networks.
In episode two, our feature interview is with the amazing Chris Edwards, director of government relations and advocacy at Vision Australia. Chris plays an active role in educating taxi drivers about access laws to ensure all passengers who travel with an accredited assistance animal are welcomed and are not refused a trip.
In episode one, we interview Olivia Barry, the chief operating officer at 13cabs and Silver Service. She’s an inspiration to many with her courage and ability to get things done.
