Organising transport to a medical appointment if you have mobility issues can be a daunting task.
Driving yourself when you are unwell poses a danger to yourself and other motorists on the road. The safest and best way to organise your transport to a medical appointment is to call 13cabs.
Helping those that need additional help with transport in our community is in our DNA as a company which is why we are sponsoring the Lipodema Awareness Evening. Lipedema is a physically debilitating condition that impacts mobility.
13cabs, Ibis and Brisbane Airport have teamed up to host the Lipedema Awareness Evening on Friday November 5 at Sky Lounge, Ibis Hotel Brisbane Airport.
Special guests include Dr Chris Lekich, Lipedema Surgical Solution, Ivan Frkovic, Commissioner of Mental Health and Hon Teresa Gamboro, president of the Lymphodema Association Queensland. The evening will be hosted by Lipedema Warrior Renata Sekulic, an employee of 13cabs.
“I discovered I had the disease only in November 2020, I had no idea it even existed,” Ms Sekulic said.
“Women as young as 30 are being placed in wheelchairs and need carers to ensure they get what we all take for granted.
“This awareness evening will feature these beautiful young women to tell us how they are dealing with the disease.”
13cabs’ professional NDIS (National Disability Insurance Scheme) trained Drivers know how to assist passengers with mobility issues, whether they need to transport to a medical appointment or to do their weekly shopping. Our fleet also includes wheelchair accessible taxis.
