10th September, 2020
R U OK? Day is Thursday 10 September 2020 and 13cabs will be supporting this special day in recognition of the 40,000 13cabs drivers that carry out essential work for our community all around our great nation.
It’s the national day of action when we remind Australians that every day is the day to ask, “Are you OK?” if someone in your world is struggling with life’s ups and downs. 13cabs supports a culture in their workplace that everyone feels safe, supported and encouraged.
13cabs Head of Driver Engagement Olivia Barry said “Whether you are from Geraldton in the west or Coffs Harbour in the east, or from Hobart in the south or Townsville in the north, there are 13cabs drivers we know and love. They work professionally and tirelessly taking passengers to appointments, essential workers to work and you out on the town, and then back again”.
“We are forever grateful for them and acutely aware they don’t have the easiest job in the world. We need to remember to check in with them too. “
2020 is turning out to be a pretty challenging year for all of us in many ways, however belonging to a team and talking to each other can make a big difference to how we feel and cope. R U OK? Day provides a good opportunity to check in openly with our colleagues, Drivers, friends and family.
This year 13cabs drivers will receive special care bags from the 13cabs Driver Support Team and will meet up for morning tea with a check in.
“Initiatives like R U OK? Day are terrific call outs of the importance of community, conversation and connection. It’s also a great opportunity for us, as a company to check-in with our cab Drivers, our staff and our extended partners, in hope to continue to create a culture of connectedness, acceptance and transparency,” says Ms Barry.
